I did not know, or forgot I did know at one time, that 5/1/2008 is the 301st anniversary of the forming of the United Kingdom. It also has not been a continuous affair. See above link for details.
British Monarchy
When I lived in England I asked why the English still waste their money on the Royal Family.
I was told that the Royal Family makes money for the country. They get more tourists because of the Royal Family and the tourists add more to the economy than the entire Royal Family costs.
If you want a Royal family that has outlived its usefulness then you should look at Japan.
the continuing occupation of Scotland
The Imperialist British government still occupies Scotland today. I say break up the United Kingdom. What is united about it? The Scots want a free and independent nation, but that cannot happen as long as the imperialists continue to occupy the nation and rape and pillage the populace. Free Scotland!
And what is up with still having a monarchy? The British Royal family are some of the richest people in the world. End the monarchy and tax them. Tax them for stealing the wealth of the people for 1000 years. Off with their heads! Throw them in the Tower of London! Put them on display for all the tourists!
