Denver is planning to host the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

It has been forty years since the 1968 DNC convention in Chicago. I bring up the comparison since I predict they both will be noted for the protests outside the convention hall. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Of course many things have changed in 40 years. Denver is not the same as Chicago. Mayor Hickenlooper will probably not be as offensive to the protesters as Chicago Mayor Daley. We have much better security systems then we had back in 1968. The local government will act better, that I am sure. Will the local protesters be non-violent, that is an open question.
